Saya suka sekali lagu ini, meskipun saat mendengarkannya pasti teringat seseorang yang seharusnya tidak diingat2 lagi..haha..gapapa juga sih, tapi males aja :p

Konon lagu ini ditulis John (konon memang sebagian besar lirik digarap oleh John, meskipun credit tittle-nya tetap menggunakan Lennon-McCartney) untuk personel Beatles mula-mula yang juga merupakan karibnya John. Stu Sutcliffe meninggal pada tahun 1962. tapi ada pula yang mengatakan kalau lagu ini juga ditujukan untuk teman lain yang bernama Pete Shotton. Meskipun kemudian banyak yang memberikan sanggahan, karena tak seorang pun yang menyukai Pete. Entahlah.. Yang jelas, baik John maupun Paul, mengakui kalau ini adalah lagu terbaik mereka.

Pada tahun 2000, lagu yang muncul di album Rubber Soul ini terpilih sebagai lagu terbaik sepanjang masa oleh sekumpulan penulis lagu versi pollingnya majalah musik Inggris, Mojo. Ada sejumlah penyanyi yang membawakan kembali lagu ini dalam versi mereka. Diantaranya adalah Rod Stewart, Stephen Stills, Astrud Gilberto, Dave Matthews, Judy Collins, Johnny Cash, dan Ozzy Osbourne.
